Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly rap tracks that tackled sexual identity and race with a the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. In the following years, she took up the classical and hip-hop genres. While in her schooling, she specialized in journalism and woman's studies. She was also a student of Mandarin briefly in Beijing. The focus on music until after she completed her degree. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album featured other viral hits like the body-positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The last track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide published in 2015. Alongside having a book published, her other career was singing. Apart from the early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a series of notable parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP debuted in June.
